Who We Recruit
To be a student intern, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:
- You must be 18 years of age and currently enrolled and attending classes during the regular term (fall, spring, and winter, if applicable) at any qualifying* institution of higher education. UEI typically doesn’t employ minors under the age of 16, but may do so for special programs. Potential employees under the age of 18, who haven’t graduated from high school, are required to provide a valid work permit prior to employment. Employees under the age of 18 aren’t permitted to engage in any hazardous work, or in work requiring driving or operating a vehicle.*Qualifying institutions include, but are not limited to Sacramento State, any campus of the CSU or UC systems, any California community college, or California private university offering a four-year degree or a credential program. Institutions of higher education that have an Articulation Agreement with any of the above institutions also qualify. An Articulation Agreement indicates that units from that institution are transferable.
- Undergraduates must be enrolled in a minimum of six semester units or nine quarter units. Graduate students must be enrolled in four semester units or six quarter units. The hiring department may have a higher unit requirement, which you’ll need to meet.
- Foreign students must provide appropriate Immigration and Naturalization Service documentation that authorizes employment.
